Regenerative Cellular Tissue
What are stem cells? Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that have the ability to take on the role of specialized cells like muscle and cartilage to help facilitate the healing process. Treatments containing stem cells and other growth factors have been used to treat a range of different acute and chronic conditions in the body. At our clinic, we want to help you find all-natural pain relief, and will create a customized treatment program for you to get the solution you’ve been looking for.
Types of Stem Cells
In traditional stem cell therapy, the cells are taken from either your own adipose (fat tissue), or from your bone marrow. At our clinic, we do not use this method of treatment, but instead use Wharton's jelly derived mesenchymal stem cells, which is not a stem cell therapy, but classified as regenerative medicine. In our experience, there are certain drawbacks to using cells derived from your own adipose tissue or bone marrow.
Adipose tissue can store toxins, which isn’t a good choice to have reintroduced to your damaged tissue, and extracting cells from bone marrow is highly invasive and can open you up to an infection. For this procedure, we need to drill inside your bones to collect the bone marrow and it is typically quite painful. Both of these types of stem cells have suffered the negative effects of aging and don’t facilitate efficient healing as well as younger cells.
The treatments containing growth factors and mesenchymal stem cells that we use are regenerative treatments that contain vital healing elements like cytokines, exosomes, collagen, enzymes, proteins and peptides.
Regeneration Using Treatments Containing Stem Cells And Other Growth Factors
After a healthy cesarean birth, donated tissue from Wharton’s jelly of the umbilical cord is collected to be used for our cellular regeneration treatments. During the pregnancy, the mother that is donating the tissue is monitored to ensure high-quality cells, and neither the mother nor the baby experiences any discomfort when the cells are collected.
The value of regenerative cell therapy using these young cells lies in the fact that they have youth on their side and can repair and regenerate tissue with greater efficiency than older cells.
Once injected, they begin to zero in on damaged tissue and dock to it, releasing healing factors and secreting exosomes that instruct other cells on how to heal the injury. They have also been known to donate their own mitochondria to other cells to help with cell respiration and boost cellular energy. The fact that mesenchymal cells haven’t yet developed an immune system of their own means when they are injected into your tissue, the chance of rejection is almost none.
Some of the conditions that can be successfully treated using regenerative cellular tissue include:
- Back pain
- Neck pain
- Shoulder pain
- Hip pain
- Elbow pain
- Joint pain
- Bone spurs
- Muscle tears
- Plantar fasciitis
- Meniscus tears
- Pinched nerves
